Duties/Responsibilities: + Ability to work in a safe manner and to identify if equipment is safe to operate. + Complete paperwork and computer transactions with attention to detail + Operate and read digital scales + Ability to troubleshoot computer issues when the need arises + Occasionally schedule trucks and process dock receipts + Maintain Kanban board within the department + Operate a skid wrapper machine + Responsible for completing inventory transactions and maintaining accurate inventories + Drive a stand-up Raymond, tugger, order picker and operate a forklift truck, which may work at different heights + Load and unload trucks by forklift or hand loader and keep required documentation + Ability to train, instruct and assist other department employees, as needed + Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions within recognized procedures + Proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision and assistance + Ability to keep their work area clean and follow 5S standards + Ability to work within high performance team guidelines (HPT) + Other duties as assigned by Supervisor + Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner, that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment + Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk + Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately + Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner + Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S projects Required Skills/Abilities: + Able to operate mobile, mechanical equipment in compliance with OSHA standards + Complete certification and be issued a forklift and equipment license + Basic computer skills + Good verbal and written communication skills Education and Experience: + Minimum High School diploma or equivalent + Preferred: Associates degree or working towards a degree Physical Requirements: + Able to reach, bend, twist, reach overhead, and operate equipment + Ability to regularly lift 30 lbs. and occasionally lift to 60 lbs. + Physical hazards due to lifting of product assemblies and tools + Fumes, dust, oils, + Extended periods of standing/walking for 8 hours per day + Requires working above the floor heights (near ceiling height) + Must be able to work in fluctuating hot and cold work environment Additional Comments: The job description is intended to describe the general nature of this position and is not an all-inclusive list of duties performed by employees assigned to this position.
