Duties and responsibilities related to the Events Waiter/Waitress role:
Provide a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to all guests upon their arrival.Present menus, provide detailed information on food and beverage items, make recommendations, and upsell specials or promotional items.Accurately take food and beverage orders, paying close attention to any special requests or dietary restrictions (e.g., allergies, halal requirements, vegetarian preferences).Use the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to relay orders to the kitchen and bar.Anticipate and respond to guest needs throughout their dining experience to ensure their satisfaction.Serve food and beverages according to the restaurant's standards of service, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.Monitor tables closely to clear used plates, glassware, and cutlery in a timely and unobtrusive manner.Regularly check back with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meal and take action to correct any problems.Prepare and present accurate bills, process payments from guests (cash, credit card, or room charge), and handle transactions responsibly.Perform all opening and closing duties, including setting tables with clean linen, polished silverware, and glassware.Ensure service stations are fully stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., cutlery, napkins, condiments, glasses) before, during, and after service.Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service stations, and other guest areas.Assist with polishing cutlery and glassware to maintain high presentation standards.Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient service flow.Assist colleagues in their duties during busy periods to support the entire team.Adhere to all hotel/restaurant policies, health and safety regulations, and food handling standards.Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and professional appearance at all times.Handle guest feedback and complaints gracefully, resolving issues where possible and escalating to a manager when necessary.
