Job Title: Wabo Inspector - Concrete

Job Description

Perform daily inspection of construction projects, monitoring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings, and project specifications. Inspections may span multiple disciplines or focus within a specified area of expertise, including structural steel, concrete, masonry, and fireproofing. Responsibilities include both visual/physical inspection and field testing to ensure conformity with plans and specifications. Prepare inspection reports and document observations and testing of materials. Communicate findings to engineers or project managers and collaborate with the project team on solutions to potential issues. Strict adherence to safety standards is required.

ResponsibilitiesPerform testing, observation, and inspection as directed, according to training and specified procedures, to ensure work is done according to contract specifications.Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Provide clear documentation of findings and results.Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submission to the Project Manager.Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.Interact with clients and other site personnel to provide input on the resolution of findings.Assist the Project Manager in the development of scope for testing and inspection services.Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with Project, Department, and/or Office Managers.Maintain equipment operation and assist more lead inspectors on large, complex projects.Follow safety rules and practices, and perform pre-task planning prior to executing work.Report any safety issues or concerns to management.Maintain quality standards on all projects.Essential SkillsExperience in construction inspection, specifically with concrete.Minimum of 3 years experience with post-tension concrete and reinforced concrete.WABO certification is required.Proficiency with inspection equipment and understanding of construction drawings.Valid driver's license is required.Additional Skills & QualificationsPreferred certifications include proprietary anchors, reinforced concrete, post-tension, firestopping, and structural wood.Work Environment

Work involves 480 active projects, engaging with approximately three dozen different ones weekly throughout the Seattle Metro area. 80% of work is commercial, primarily located between Tacoma, Seattle, and Bellevue. The role involves high-profile projects with a strong emphasis on maintaining close proximity to home locations. Employees are encouraged to continue their certification process and advance their careers, with minimal focus on transportation projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
