VP Stress Testing and Impairment Analytics

The role holder will work hand in hand with the Business, Strategic planning and Stress testing team, Finance, and Risk to ensure all regulatory and internal stress testing activities (including CCAR, AOP, GIST, PRA, EBA) are executed in time for wholesale credit function. Be able to effectively document and explain the results to Business and Senior Management. Responsible to ensure that all policies, procedures and systems are in place to support regulatory and BAU stress testing.

As our VP Stress Testing and Impairment Analytics you will:

Finalize the impairment projections, the role holder is expected to understand current Economic trends, macro projections/FEG, suite of HSBC models, how they work etc; to effectively challenge model results and help identify shortcomings and propose adjustments to ensure conceptually sound estimates
Conduct ad hoc and standard stress testing analysis to inform management to help guide management actionsDeep dive into existing portfolio to be able to understand portfolio dynamics, key and emerging risks (for Risk Identification)Participate in model development process and Review and Challenge on the workings and design of modelsUnderstand suite of HSBC models, how they work and downstream impacts during the implementation of these modelsDeep dive into stress testing forecasts to look for anomalies and trends to help determine potential overlays and underlays to model resultsPrepare adjustment templates, upload to systems and verify accuracyCreate review and Challenge Stress Testing Presentations while documenting minutes and following up on key takeaways. Ensure accurate and thorough documentation related to stress testing and impairment activitiesWork with other members of WMR especially CAU experts, Business Portfolio Management to conduct periodic sector related stress tests that are done internally and outside regulatory stress tests (ie CCAR)Involve in discussions with internal and external Auditors on impairment and stress testing exercises and respond timely and effectively to queries raisedInteract with IMR, Audit, Assurance functions to ensure all governance requirements are effectively met and documented appropriately for their reviews

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $160,000.00 and $215,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
