NaphCare has an excellent opportunity for a VP of Operations – Federal Prisons to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL. The Vice President of Operations – Federal Prisons is accountable for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of community-based medical services for multiple Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) correctional facilities across the country. Provides operational oversight and contract adherence with our BOP clients, community-based hospitals, and provider groups. This position will serve as a liaison for effective collaboration among multiple company departments including contracting, claims, scheduling, and medical records.
Responsibilities
Utilizes appropriate resources effectively and timely to ensure adherence to contract requirements and the ability to recommend and/or implement performance improvement processes.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, contracts, policies, and safety standards.Ability to work independently, multi-task, work under pressure, manage changing priorities and exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational and/or contract objectives.Proactively acts to solve problems and uses objectivity and insightfulness when approaching problems, meeting established goals, and taking responsibility for results and outcomes.Works closely with the EVP of Federal Prisons on operational issues that involve our correctional clients and provider networks. Coordinates and conducts site visits at BOP correctional facilities and/or provider facilities located across the continental US as well as conduct regular teleconference calls with our clients.Demonstrates professionalism by using objectivity, maintaining self-control when under pressure, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example for all company employees.Work with EVP to develop and implement operational strategies that align with the Company’s overall business objectives.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, support, and commitment amongst the team.Builds productive working relationships with staff, supervisors, security, healthcare staff, patients, vendors, and clients.Lead, guide, and mentor operations teams, including managers and other staff.Must have excellent written, verbal, negotiating, and interpersonal skills to promote the company’s core values of being a customer-service oriented company. Qualifications
BA / BS with a healthcare or business degree, Masters preferredAt least 10 years of healthcare related experienceAt least 5 years of managerial and supervisory experience required, multi-state management experience highly desirableMust be detailed oriented and highly effective in communication, route cause analysis, and problem solving.Travel required 10%
Physical Capabilities:
Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
