POSITION SUMMARY:
The VP of Marketing will be a key leader within our organization, responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, guest engagement, and revenue growth for Big Cedar Lodge – America’s Premier Wilderness Resort. As a partner to the broader leadership team, the VP will ensure marketing efforts align with the resort’s revenue and guest satisfaction goals, collaborating across departments to support occupancy, visitation, and ancillary revenue streams. The ideal candidate is results-oriented, guest-obsessed, and passionate about building emotional connections through compelling storytelling and exceptional experiences. In addition to the world-class resorts, the VP of Marketing will play an integral role in developing and telling a compelling multi-channel narrative of the Johnny Morris Foundation and Conservation Attractions. They will have a strong understanding of the core guest and POV on how to bring a world-class resort and attraction experience to life. They will be a humble and collaborative leader, with a passion for the mission of the organization, inspiring all people to enjoy, love and conserve the great outdoors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans and oversees marketing objectives, strategies, programs, and policiesTranslates the overall marketing vision into integrated business plans, tactics, and deliverablesPartners with ownership and the Senior Leadership Team to establish brand identity and brand standards in relation to marketing and public relations.Develop and execute the resort’s marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth in alignment with overall business objectives.Provides budgetary oversight, controls marketing initiatives, and delegates resources and teams to execute short-term and long-term marketing plansPlans and directs critical marketing functions, including market research, communications, and product planningOversee all aspects of Big Cedar public relations, ensuring that the information and messaging about Big Cedar is in accordance with brand standards and the wishes of ownershipDemonstrates ability to be proactive in identifying ways to promote and cross-promote Big Cedar, Top of the Rock, Dogwood Canyon and Buffalo Ridge services and amenities to maximize revenuePartners with Bass Pro Shop’s marketing department to create and deliver successful marketing collateral and campaignsAll other duties as assignedEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferredMinimum of 10–15 years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally within hospitality, attraction, or lifestyle brands.Proven success in leading large-scale, integrated marketing initiatives with measurable business impact, including brand building, digital marketing, CRM, and performance marketing.Deep understanding of marketing technologies and platforms (e.g., CRM, CMS, analytics, ad tech, and social media tools), with a strategic view on to utilize tools to measure guest satisfaction and drive business outcomes.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
