Description We are looking for an experienced and strategic VP/Director of Finance to oversee financial operations and drive organizational success through effective financial planning and analysis. Based in Pepper Pike, Ohio, this leadership role requires a deep understanding of nonprofit accounting and grants management, alongside strong technical expertise in budgeting, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to process improvement and financial oversight.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and provide guidance to the bookkeeper responsible for billings, accounts payable, and month-end close tasks.
• Conduct financial analysis and develop strategic plans to support organizational growth.
• Prepare and oversee regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Utilize QuickBooks and fundraising platforms like Little Green Light for accounting and financial tracking.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including consulting on potential software upgrades.
• Develop and maintain accurate budgets and forecasts to support financial decision-making.
• Generate and present financial reports, including month-end close documentation.
• Analyze operational results and provide clear explanations to stakeholders.
• Manage grant and fund accounting with a focus on state and federal government funding requirements. Requirements • Proven expertise in grant accounting and fund accounting within a nonprofit setting.
• Strong experience in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks and other accounting software.
• Familiarity with fundraising platforms such as Little Green Light.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and report financial data effectively.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for state and federal grants.
• Strong leadership and management skills to oversee financial operations.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency.
