Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Director of Accounting, Finance and Administration position for a stable company located in Truckee, CA. The person in this role will be responsible for the full accounting, finance and risk management administration for the organization, and will manage a staff of two.
The ideal candidate will lead the full spectrum of the organizations financial activities, including budgeting, accounting, treasury, investments, purchasing, and internal controls. They will be responsible for preparing and administering the budget, forecasting resources, and ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards. This position also manages complex financial reporting, annual audits, and regulatory compliance across local, state, and federal agencies. In addition, the risk management functions such as liability, property, workers’ compensation, and cyber insurance programs. They will also co-administer employee benefits and retirement plans in partnership with HR to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuity of service.
This position regularly represents the organization at Board meetings, committee sessions, and public forums, providing strategic insight on fiscal and administrative matters.
To be considered for this role, candidates are required to have a BS Degree in Accounting or similar, a CPA is highly desirable. At least 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role over the functions described above is required. Public Sector/Governmental Accounting experience is highly desirable, but not required.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in budgeting, financial statement preparation, and auditing processes.
• Familiarity with governmental accounting principles and standards is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of risk management practices, including insurance programs and compliance.
• Experience with payroll systems and managing financial operations for small teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex financial data to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams while driving organizational success.
