A Day in the Life:
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Vice President, Data Architecture & Infrastructure to lead the design, modernization, and governance of the company’s enterprise data ecosystem. This role is responsible for defining and implementing a scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture that enables analytics, machine learning, and business operations across the organization.
The VP will work in close partnership with the VP of Applied Data & Analytics to ensure that the company’s data platform is optimized for both operational resilience and analytical consumption. This position will play a critical leadership role in evolving our cloud data environment, governing enterprise data assets, and enabling a unified and trusted data foundation.
The salary range for this position begins at $300,000.
What You’ll Do:
Enterprise Data Architecture
Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture strategy, including standards, principles, and roadmaps. Lead the development and integration of data models, data domains, and metadata frameworks across core business systems. Own the logical and physical architecture of enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and real-time data systems.Data Platform Engineering
Oversee design, development, maintenance, and cost-governance of data infrastructure components (e.g., pipelines, orchestration frameworks, APIs). Lead platform modernization efforts including migration to cloud-native and scalable data platforms (Databricks/AWS). Ensure infrastructure supports low-latency, high-throughput, and high-availability data access that meets the needs of business use-cases.Data Governance & Quality
Build systems and processes for data lineage, cataloging, access controls, and auditability. Establish scalable data quality standards, monitoring, and stewardship programs. Partner with legal, compliance, and data leaders to define and enforce data governance, data privacy, and regulatory frameworks.Collaboration & Integration
Collaborate closely with the VP of Applied Data & Analytics to align data architecture with business use cases and analytical demands. Partner with IT, security, and application teams to ensure tight integration between operational and analytical environments. Support cross-functional initiatives that depend on high-quality, real-time, and trusted data.Team Leadership & Strategy
Build and lead a high-performing team of data architects, platform engineers, DevOps professionals, and infrastructure leaders. Drive technical innovation and adopt best-in-class tools, practices, and cloud technologies. Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and roadmap delivery aligned with enterprise data strategy.What We’re Looking For:
15+ years’ experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Infrastructure; 5+ years in a senior leadership role Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field, required; Master’s Degree, preferred Deep expertise in modern data architecture concepts including cloud-native data warehousing, data lakes, event streaming, and real-time processing. Hands-on experience with technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, DBT, Airflow, Azure/AWS/GCP, and CI/CD pipelines. Proven ability to lead enterprise data strategy and platform transformation initiatives at scale. Strong understanding of data governance, data privacy, and compliance frameworks. Experience in highly-regulated or complex environments (e.g., financial services, transportation, healthcare, or mobility), preferred. Familiarity with hybrid data architectures spanning cloud and on-premise systems, preferred. Exposure to data mesh, data fabric, or domain-driven data ownership model, preferred.
