Job Summary

\n

VP Community Affairs is responsible for the oversight of planning, developing, and implementing community affairs programs and initiatives for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH),  that enhance the well-being of the individuals and communities we serve Identifies, evaluates and analyzes best practices for community affairs initiatives that are aligned with system priorities and community health needs assessments., Directs community affairs programs and faith-focused initiatives from planning and design through implementation and evaluation. Develops methods to measure performance outcomes to ensure the programs achieve system priorities and the needs of the communities we serve.

Strengthens BSW relationships with key stakeholders and community leaders to advance the system’s Mission and strategic priorities in the communities we serve. Represents the organization at community events and forums.  Collaborates closely with executive leadership, system leadership, operations, legal, risk management, communications, and other departments to develop and implement community affairs strategies.

\n

Essential Functions

\n

- Oversees community affairs for BSWH. 
- Leads development, execution and ensures implementation of community affairs programs that align with system priorities.
- Researches, applies, and implements community affairs best practices.  
- Leads the development and implementation of operational metrics, dashboards, analytics and reports that quantify and measure the benefits of BSWH community affairs programs. 
- Strengthens relationships with key stakeholders and community leaders to amplify BSWH community affairs strategies and programs.
- Leads a high-performance team that supports the strategy, outcomes and metrics to measure contributions to the communities, members and populations served.

Key Success Factors

\n

- Bachelor's degree in political science, business,, public policy, or related field preferred. Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in community affairs or public affairs.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Ability to build internal and external relationships with stakeholders and organizations to advance community affairs strategies.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and balance achieving near-term results with building and scaling long term.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification; Master’s preferred
- 7 years of experience
