Job Purpose & Scope In this role, you will be responsible for new business growth in one (or more) banking centers in our growth-oriented retail bank. You will cultivate, maintain, and strengthen relationships with the community, providing excellent client service while meeting the financial needs of our clients. You will lead your team and our bank to get better every day. Essential Job Functions Spend majority of time traveling within assigned markets to meet with existing and potential clients to sell bank products and services Leverage local market networks and centers of influence to identify, prospect and pursue business opportunities Conduct in-person meetings, outbound calling, and business development activities, leveraging traditional channels and new channels (i.e., social media) Execute strategic and tactical plans to ensure growth, business development productivity and financial targets are achieved Generate organic consumer and business deposit and loan growth that supports the bank’s NIM and efficiency goals May identify and close commercial loan opportunities May manage branch operations and employees Maintains responsibility and accountability for banking center security for all employees occupying the facility and ensures compliance with the bank’s security program, policies, and procedures Lead by example and be a change agent to help banking center team members develop, demonstrate, and grow business development skills Enthusiastically embrace, support, and model the bank’s values and mission Ensure regular and effective upstream and downstream communication with regional and division leadership and with banking center team members Model talent development skills and business development skills to facilitate strong employee engagement Identify and recruit talent to build a highly effective team Ensure employees have access to and receive mentoring and training to be effective in their roles Display a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism at all times Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions Maintain consistently good punctuality and attendance to work Ensure branch compliance with audit and regulatory procedures, as well as Bank policy and procedures Follow Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines to protect employees, clients, and bank assets Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of bank products and services Knowledge of bank regulations, policies, and procedures Ability to embrace and ensure the successful delivery of Bank OZK’s retail value proposition Ability to drive and meet business development goals Ability to demonstrate confidence and act as an accomplished and persuasive business development leader with proven track record of successfully building client relationships Ability to demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial spirit and positive reputation in the local market and among peers Ability to demonstrate effective organization skills and a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to achieve goals and objectives Ability to provide excellent customer service and demonstrate a helpful, friendly, approachable, enthusiastic, and professional disposition Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including persuasion and negotiation skills Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills and accurate and efficient productivity, including attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to manage, lead, mentor, and train team members effectively, inspiring them to meet business objectives Ability to act as a team-oriented leader, capable of managing and thriving in a continually changing environment Skill in identifying client needs to develop and grow business Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office applications necessary to perform essential job functions Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience required 1+ year business development and leadership experience required Proven, consistent achievement of business growth goals and financial targets required Comprehensive knowledge of bank products/services and regulations required Experience leading and coaching professionals preferred Valid driver’s license and good driving record required NMLS preferred (required for lending activities) Job Expectations Job Expectations: Operate customary equipment and technology used in a business environment, with or without accommodation.
