VP, Technology Asset Manager
Job Purpose & Scope Responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of the organization’s IT assets through their lifecycle. Oversees IT assets are effectively tracked, maintained, and optimized to support business objectives, compliance requirements, and cost-efficiency. Leads the IT Procurement team, ensures timely acquisition of technology resources in alignment with governance standards and budgetary goals. Essential Job Functions Oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and retirement. Supports audits of the hardware and software assets to maintain consistent and accurate data. Leads and manages the IT Procurement team, overseeing sourcing, vendor reseller selection, standard equipment price negotiation, and purchase order processing to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of IT assets. Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes as needed. Coordinates with Corporate Finance to ensure financial reconciliation of IT assets. Maintains accurate records of hardware and software assets with the ServiceNow platform and identifies opportunities for cost savings and asset utilization improvements. Ensures compliance with internal policies, licensing agreements, and regulatory requirements for IT assets. Develops and implements asset management and procurement procedures aligned with organizational goals. Generates regular reports on asset status, usage, depreciation, procurement activity, and compliance to provide insights to enable data-driven strategic decision-making. Serves as a liaison between Technology Governance and other departments and business units to ensure alignment and transparency in asset and procurement practices. Administers the IT Asset Management application of ServiceNow. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management processes and standards. Comprehensive knowledge of ITAM module administration. General knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 framework. Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and assess risks and develop preventative measures. Ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills and manage the work objectives of others. Ability to manage multiple tasks with exacting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to demonstrate excellent and effective customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work effectively and demonstrate flexibility in a continually changing environment. Ability to demonstrate attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proficient skill in ServiceNow asset and procurement management tools. Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or commensurate work experience, required. 5+ years of work experience in IT asset management, procurement, or related discipline, required. 1+ years of experience leading, managing, or mentoring others, required. Professional certification or training in ITILv4, ITAM, Certified IT Asset Manager – IAITAM, Certified Procurement Professional, or Microsoft Asset Manager Associate, preferred.
