Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Position Overview:
Responsible for all rights management, near-term and long-term programming, strategic scheduling, formatting, reporting and contingency planning for all sports across linear and digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for scheduling, planning, and reporting, including communicating schedule information to both internal and external partners.
+ Responsible for negotiating and managing rights to sports events and programming.
+ Identifies and fosters strong strategic partnerships across the Versant sports portfolio of sports leagues, teams, and other organizations.
+ Oversee all matters related to live Sports and Golf Channel contingencies, including leveraging relationships across VERSANT and with league partners
+ Collaborate with sales and production to create and execute program formats.
+ Identifies and implements changes to programming content, schedule and look based on research data.
+ Oversee sports VOD programming and content and the GolfPass Virtual Channel.
+ Manage all aspects of international programming related to sports to help generate distribution deals and manage international partner relationships.
+ Lead & manage a programming team.
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelors Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, related field, or equivalent
+ Minimum 15 years of experience in sports programming in broadcast industry
+ Proven ability to work with and influence senior key stakeholders
+ Experience building and leading creative, forward-thinking teams

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Experienced knowledge base of basketball, golf, motorsports

+ Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.
