VP, Enterprise Architect

The Vice President, Enterprise Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining the organization’s enterprise architecture framework to align business strategy with IT strategy. This role involves leading architectural initiatives, driving digital transformation, and ensuring the integration of business processes, data, applications, and technology. This role will work closely with key stakeholders to shape technology direction and deliver scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise solutions across critical work streams. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

Develop and implement an enterprise architecture strategy that supports business objectives. 

Lead the creation and maintenance of the IT roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. 

Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for adoption. 

Define strategic architecture solutions across key work streams, (e.g. ERP, Data & Analytics, Digital Applications, and Infrastructure). 

Architecture Management

Design and maintain architecture models, including business, data, application, and technology architectures. 

Define architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices. 

Conduct architecture reviews and assessments to ensure compliance with standards. 

Oversee architecture development and integration within ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics, Oracle), Data & Analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI), Digital Applications (e.g., Adobe), and IT Infrastructure (e.g., cloud platforms, networking). 

Collaboration and Leadership

Partner with business leaders to understand strategic needs and translate them into technical solutions. 

Lead and mentor a team of architects and technical specialists across various domains. 

Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure technology solutions meet business requirements. 

Collaborate with program managers and technical leads on the execution of key initiatives, including ERP implementations, data modernization, digital transformation projects, and infrastructure upgrades. 

Governance and Risk Management

Establish and enforce governance policies to manage architectural changes and risks. 

Ensure data security and regulatory compliance throughout the architecture lifecycle. 

Maintain oversight of risk management practices within key work streams, particularly focusing on data protection, digital delivery efficiency, and system resiliency. 

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

Monitor the performance and effectiveness of architectural initiatives. 

Prepare reports and presentations to communicate architecture strategy and progress to executive leadership. 

Track the success of major work streams, such as ERP optimization, data accuracy, digital delivery outcomes, and infrastructure performance. 

Job Specifications:

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic and operations planning for IT architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 

Proven track record of driving digital transformation and large-scale IT projects within key work streams. 

Skills

Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies. 

In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, data analytics platforms, digital delivery methodologies, and IT infrastructure technologies. 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities. 

Proficiency in cloud technologies, APIs, and modern application architectures.

Familiarity with IT governance and compliance frameworks. 

The anticipated pay range for this position is $220,400 – $374,500 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
