Job Summary:

The Business Planning / Transformation Manager – (VP) will, together with existing Business Strategy/Planning team, support Head of Global Markets Divisions Americas.  His/her primary focus will be on supporting the Head of Global Markets Divisions Americas, by focusing on the Japanese Corporate Sales, Trading and Treasury business based in NY. Candidate will assist in delivering strategic growth initiatives, advice management actions based on business KPI dashboard, and/or building a robust managerial performance reporting platform by engineering & refining the complex process.

Responsibilities will include:

By being a part of Front Office members, forming and executing strategic initiatives of a bank for S&T / Treasury business as an independent enabler of the bank. Formulation and execution of strategy and initiatives will include the following aspects:Cultivating support from senior managements as sponsors Collaboration and partnership with internal support teams (Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT and Finance, etc.) to promote business prioritiesDeveloping and driving implementation of innovative technologies / third party services to gain leaps in operational efficienciesBeing accountable for engaging stakeholders throughout all phases of the initiative, from formulation to execution:Organizing tasks, dependencies and issues based on In-depth functional understanding of S&T / Treasury business of large banking institutions Manage progress of individual tasks & RAID for the initiatives, escalate to senior management promptly and effectivelyEngaged with other stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure appropriate representation.Leading business performance analysis by accessing various managerial reporting / metrics and consolidating the trend and view of the organization with simplified visuals and clear message. The contents includeCost analysis (systems, vendors, internal allocations, etc.)Revenue analysis (client segment, product, etc.)Budget / resource planning to meet revenue/NOP targetsConsolidating data, reports, process so that we can create a robust managerial reporting platform efficiently from process and governance perspectivesTo that extent, commit to critical regular management reporting generation on a timely manner as a part of planning team

Skills & Requirements:                     

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degreeA minimum of 5-7 years of prior large corporate financial services work experiencePreferably as a Sales, Trader, Treasurer or Business Manager supporting a complex global bulge-bracket banking organization with Fixed Income or FX productsKnowledge of business trend analysis, data mining, data analysis, resource allocationSuccessful hands-on delivery experience of digital transformation using modern technologies / platformSuccessful hands-on delivery experience of managerial / financial reporting consolidation and process improvementPrior experience in a Business Strategy function, or Strategy & Management consulting firms is a plusAn advanced Master’s degree in Accounting, Financial Engineering and or a CPA, CFA certification or an MBA is a plusExperience in managing and mitigating business risk

General skills & experience: 

Excellent MS application skills, including Excel and PowerPoint to enable senior management reportingA structured and logical approach to workStrong decision-making skills, the ability to demonstrate sound judgmentStrong problem-solving skillsBusiness level Japanese speaking, writing and reading is a plus (but not mandatory)It is a plus to have some skills (but not mandatory) with actual delivery of projects/products/services: Statistics background w/t Python, Machine/Deep Learning implementation, data visualization with Tableau/Microsoft Power BI, Process Automation with Gen AI / AI agent, cloud platform setup such as AWS bedrock, Snowflake, Data Bricks, etc.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $125K - $180K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
