Position Overview
The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for leading growth initiatives that drive new revenue opportunities across both internal retail distribution and third-party channels. This executive will be accountable for expanding the distribution and adoption of the firm’s owned services, including Employee Benefit Wholesale via Specialty Placement, Life & Disability, and Captives. The VP will serve as a strategic growth leader, building and managing relationships with external retail brokers while also maximizing opportunities within the company’s own internal retail ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to expand distribution of owned services through third-party retail brokers.Partner with internal retail leadership teams to strengthen and scale distribution within the company’s internal retail network.Drive growth across core business units, including:Employee Benefit Wholesale via Specialty PlacementLife & DisabilityCaptivesBuild and maintain strategic relationships with retail brokerage firms, consultants, and other distribution partners to expand market reach.Collaborate closely with Specialty Placement, Life & Disability, and Captives leadership to align product positioning, market strategy, and distribution efforts.Establish measurable sales goals, monitor performance, and report on revenue growth and distribution expansion.Provide leadership and guidance to ensure alignment between business development initiatives and overall organizational objectives.Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and key partner meetings to enhance brand presence and drive business opportunities.Identify emerging trends, competitor strategies, and evolving client needs to inform distribution strategy and product innovation.Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales leadership, or distribution strategy within the insurance, employee benefits, or financial services industries.Demonstrated success in building third-party retail distribution relationships and delivering revenue growth.Strong understanding of Employee Benefits, Life & Disability, and Captive solutions.Proven track record of developing and executing strategic sales plans.Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.Strategic thinker with ability to execute in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.Acrisure is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
