**Job Summary and Qualifications**
Support initiatives to improve physician engagement through positive fulfilling student rotation experiences. Along with DSME, provide mentoring and coaching support to students in transition with leadership development and professionalism.
**PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
• Plan, organize, department services for the use of Guest Services Team to supplement the activities of regular hospital staff.
• Develop and recommend goals and objectives for the Guest Services Team.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the training and supervision of volunteers and their activities within the hospital.
• Develop recruitment programs and activities for teenage volunteers to foster interest in healthcare careers.
• Evaluate team performance in relation to established goals implementing changes to effect continual improvement of services. PDP plans.
• Interview and select Volunteers and Chaplains to ensure the alignment of specific skills to match organizational need identified.
• Assign, train, coach, and motivate volunteers.
• Provide recognition of services through a variety of social functions and award ceremonies.
• Guest Services Team to help improve the patient experience while bringing value to the organization and employees with cost savings.
• Develop and recommend operating budgets with provision for expenditures and supplies such as uniforms, supplies and recognition items. Ensure that department operates within allocated funds.
• Compile and maintain records of volunteer hours worked and report on departmental activities, types of services performed and status of the volunteer program. Maintain required records, reports, and files for developmental purposes.
• Maintain established hospital and user department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
• Ensure ongoing training and development to include but not limited to Healthstream.
• Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Document maintenance. Justify equipment and supply purchases.
• Maintain required records, reports, and files in compliance with organization standards.
• Represent SRMC at networking events, board participation and community groups.
· Identify business opportunities based on service line growth initiatives in the community.
· Management of Kronos.
· Provide Chaplain support to patients and families.
· Recruit qualified Chaplains, and provide on-going training and development.
**VCOM Site Coordinator**
• Facilitate educational needs of students with patient safety as the priority.
• Coach/mentor and support students to align with SRMC mission, vision & values.
• Proctor and oversee post rotation exam of students with integrity.
• Physician liaison for education needs and physician engagement.
• Problem solve and work with DSME in issue resolution for patient, student and physician satisfaction.
• Maintain database of clinical faculty and reports within VCOM for growth of program.
• Invoice processing and preceptor payments.
• One-on-one assistance to students: on-going schedules, encouragement and support.
• Recruitment of physician preceptors.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
· Ability to manage significant workload meeting established deadlines with minimal supervision.
· Customer service experience, including effective listening skills and critical thinking.
· Supervisory and management experience
· Budgeting and strategic planning experience
· Patient experience skills and strong communication skills
· Ability to travel throughout the Fredericksburg region
· Employee engagement experience is preferred
· Training and development experience is a plus
**EDUCATION:**
· Bachelors degree in Business or Health Administration preferred.
**EXPERIENCE:**
· Five (5) years of administration, public relations, volunteer or management experience.
· Supervisory experience, including coaching and mentoring and human resources development.
