i3 is seeking a VMware Systems Administrator. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise supporting information system components, infrastructure integration and maintenance to satisfy architectural and business requirements. The VMware Systems Administrator must have a customer centric approach and provide all levels of support for the user base community.
Responsibilities Provide direct customer service and technical support to local and remote users as required via phone, e-mail, on-line systems and in person. Perform implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management. Manages a VMware vSphere Infrastructure in support of several labs within a multi-zoned environment. Manages the functionality of servers and computers running Windows/Linux operating systems such as (RHEL, CentOS, Windows 10/11, Windows Server) within an Active Directory environment. Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems. Assist in creation and maintenance of system documentation such as SOPs and policies. Implementing Information Assurance (IA) systems and practices such as DISA STIGs, RMF and system hardening. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Provides advice and training to end-users. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 4 years’ experience or 7+ year’s equivalent experience. Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance. Ability to take initiative work in a team environment. Must have Excellent Customer Service Skills. Strong Virtualization and Systems Administration principles and troubleshooting experience. Good working knowledge of cybersecurity practices/procedures (DISA STIGs, RMF, hardening, documentation). Must have DoD 8570/8140 IA Certification (Security+ CE). VMWare Certified Professional or greater certification required. Ability to manage a large-scale, complex virtual computing environment. Ability to build, standardize, and configure Windows and Linux Operating Systems in various technical use cases. Experience with Multifactor authentication, CAC/Smartcard PKI and certificate management in a mixed Windows/Linux environment. Experience with virtualization technologies such as Red Hat OpenShift, VMware Cloud Foundation, and Nutanix AHV. Experience with Hyper-converged systems from vendors such as vSAN, Nutanix, Dell, and HP.
