Who we are
By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.
This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.
What you'll be doing
Overseeing DC management, systems administration, and monitoring while maintaining networking and security systemsProviding planning, installing, configuring, and upgrading support for vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, and NSX-TLeveraging expert-level experience with VMware and advanced technologiesApplying extensive knowledge of networking and security products, solutions, and services, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Security/Trust ZonesCreating network designs, blueprints, and standards for implementation in data centersUnderstanding VLAN routing between L3 devices and configuring VMware environments using NSXSupporting L2/L3 network infrastructure in a Leaf-Spine configuration aligned with VMware best practicesImplementing L3 dynamic routing such as BGPTroubleshooting network issues and outages to ensure optimal system performanceDeveloping use cases for container-based architectures and NSX-T implementationsDesigning secure network systems, configurations, and installationsLeading documentation and presentation efforts for VMware deployments and the delivery of complex solutionsApplying knowledge and experience with VMware’s Core Cloud Infrastructure as an added advantageUnderstanding modern IT, DevOps data centers, and cloud operationsUtilizing monitoring solutions such as VMware vRealize for effective system managementMaintaining an operational background in ITIL processes, network operations, and support
What you'll bring along
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred)Minimum 5-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure with at least 3 years focused on VMware technologies.ITIL certification (highly desirable) and experience with service management tools such as ServiceNow (a plus)VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, CCNA, CCNP certifications or equivalent work experience.Extensive experience in designing, implementing and maintaining network infrastructure at different scales (LAN/WAN/MAN)Extensive experiences with Layer 2, 3, and 4 technologies, with the ability to apply the knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of global service provider’s core and backbone networkExperience with various networking technology, including MPLS, VPLS, VLAN, VxLAN, LTM/GTM, BGP, ACL, NAT, VPN, IPv4/IPv6Experience with software-defined network, such as VMWare NSXBackground in automated network environments, Network components and concepts such as:Routers, switches, load balancers, and other networking and security components; Virtual networking components, dynamic routingprotocols; Networking protocols such as BGP and OSPF; VLANs, VPN, Unicast vs Multicast, Management Networks, IP subnetting, and network design ; NSX Vmware with VR & VROScripting skillsStrong communication and documentation skillsA proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving and process optimizationAttention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistencyExcellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus).
