The Visual Investigations (OSINT) Reporter/Producer is a tenacious data journalist who will work closely with senior editors, producers and reporters to uncover fresh new stories, break news, reconstruct events and track high-profile editorial threads for some of the network’s most high-stakes reporting. You should be constantly looking for ways to push CNN’s reporting to the next level, drawing on new tools and techniques to produce visually compelling stories. **Your Role Accountabilities:** + Forensically dig through open sources, like satellite imagery, flight and shipping data, social media, government records, financial records, and other online or leaked databases to investigate stories. + Work on short-term and long-term projects under tight deadlines. + Build timelines and maps reconstructing events during breaking news and investigations. + Produce videos across all platforms (digital, TV, social media, etc.), collaborating with video editors, designers, developers and reporters to craft compelling visual content for our audience. + Help to direct, lead and edit open-source reporting, back-stopping work from others on the team. **Qualifications and experience:** + Minimum 5 years experience with a range of open-source techniques. + Strong data analysis, network mapping skills and coding capabilities. Proficiency in Python and an understanding of machine learning models is desired. + Proficient in OSINT techniques, including geolocation, chronolocation, satellite image analysis, geospatial analysis, basic QGIS analysis and analysis leveraging other AI models. + Strong editorial background to turn OSINT discoveries into distinctive storytelling. + Familiarity with dark web forums and online communities, such as Discord. + To be highly collaborative with the ability to communicate effectively across all teams. + You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be calm under pressure. + Possess excellent writing skills with an ability to articulate facts clearly and concisely. **How We Get Things Done…** This last bit is probably the most important! Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $64,260.00 - $119,340.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
