Your role @ CHANEL: Lead the Design to support all Trade and Promotional activity for F&B UK and Travel Retail | Design of Internal F&B Events, local initiatives, PR Events, Training Events and Pop-Ups | Lead Graphic Design across the UK market | Supporting the UK Region with capacity overflow of Design activity
The successful candidate will support the Visual Design Manager and mentor the Visual Designer in the design and execution of 2D and 3D promotional activity for the UK Market. They are an operational keystone in the execution of all trade, promotional and PR event activity for the UK. Working closely across all UK departments they will initiate and deliver both Global and local concepts for both Domestic and Travel Retail markets. The scope also includes designing for large retailer conferences, local in-store events and training. The role also supports the UK Region if there is an overflow of work.

Designing 3D concepts for UK Retail and Travel Retail spaces based on global guidelinesCreating design proposals and technical layouts in 2D and 3D for the UK Domestic market including local and travel retail (Sketchup experience required)Designing in an environmentally responsible way, considering new, sustainable initiatives within budget considerations and managing the end-of-life cycle of these materialsWorking closely with the local design team and wider VM team to ensure successful completion of all projects to a high standardWorking within global guidelines to produce visually exceptional campaign collateralCommunicating closely and maintaining relationships with our supplier networkLead the design and create immersive, interactive environments for pop-up’s, events and PR activities: Supporting the Marketing and Retail teams to create and implement strong design and creative solutions.
Ideate design ideas for in-store experiences and larger pop-ups using local objectives as a starting pointDevelop floor plans, layouts, and 3D visualizations that enhance the visitor experienceIntegrate lighting, sound, materials, and digital technologies (such as interactive displays, projection mapping, and AR) to create a multi-sensory, branded experienceCollaborate with retail teams, event planners and technical experts to ensure the seamless integration of experiential design elements into physical spacesCurate narrative-driven environments that align with brand identity and enhance the consumer journeyOversee the fabrication and installation of design elements, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standardsPrioritise and manage multiple projects, allocating creative resources effectively and anticipating bottlenecksConduct site visits to ensure design vision is accurately realised, adjusting as needed during the build processWork closely with marketing and brand teams to develop custom-designed environments that align with campaign objectives and maximize customer engagementArtworking, layouts, approvals and communications across these projects to support the activityCollaborating with Global teams on graphic event collateral, producing these to high standardsMentor the development of junior members within the team: Supporting the development of the Visual Designer through constructive feedback, goal setting and regular check ins.
Delegate event related tasks, such as artworking, layouts, prop listing, 3D design aspects and promotional materials appropriately, providing clear guidance and encouraging ownership and accountabilityProvide day-to-day leadership to the Visual Designer acting as their primary mentorSupport the Visual Designer in developing their creative skills, project ownership and confidence, offering regular feedback and fostering a growth-oriented working relationshipSupport the Visual Designer with graphic design briefs that come in from the wider businessChampion collaboration by involving the Visual Designer in ideation and concept development, encouraging contribution while maintaining responsibility for quality control and creative consistencyConduct regular one-to-ones, performance check-ins and development planning to align team goalsOther: A short summary of other requirements of the role

What you will bring to the role:
At least 3-5 years’ experience within the industry is preferable but not compulsoryStrong interest in event and retail design and keen to stay curiousSketchup knowledge is essential and VRAY (or otherwise) rendering experience preferableQualification in a design subject is desirableAbility to design with a CSR mindset and sustainable thinkingFluent in the Adobe Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)Fluent in the Microsoft suite of programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)Strong organisational and communication skillsHighly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to work proactively in a dynamic environmentTeam player mindset with the ability to confidently work self-sufficientlyAble to commute to a London-based office and able to work remotely if requiredYou are energised by:
