Purpose:

WV Women Work (WVWW) is a West Virginia-based nonprofit committed to helping women gain the skills they need for strong, reliable careers—especially in trades like construction, welding, and manufacturing. With deep roots in Charleston and a practical, hands-on approach, WVWW trains women to succeed in fields that offer solid wages, long-term stability, and local job growth. Our programs include workforce training, job readiness, and mentorship for women in coal communities that are ready to step into roles that support their families and build local prosperity. With support from regional partners, WVWW also works with employers to connect job-ready candidates with career opportunities in West Virginia communities. We’re renovating a new facility in Charleston to serve as a hub for job training, career guidance, and community-building. This woman-focused training center will give women the tools to enter essential industries, support themselves and their families, and stay rooted in their communities. WV Women Work is proud to be part of West Virginia’s comeback story—where families, not handouts, drive the future. We believe that empowering women with skills and opportunity helps everyone: it strengthens families, keeps local dollars in local towns, and builds pride in our workforce.
