Vision Technology Development Supervisor (TWA)

This position is TWA (up to 90%) and is fully on-site in Redford, MI.

This position will lead a team to develop innovative process and technological solutions to solve real-life manufacturing problems related to cost and quality. Specifically, individuals will focus on technology assessment and development to deliver vision solutions to manufacturing teams. Collaboration with the various plant and skill teams will be paramount in successfully implementing projects, so a dynamic, self-driven, highly collaborative individual is sought for this great opportunity to lead the way in establishing the future of manufacturing at Ford.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline  5+ years of practical experience testing and implementing machine vision solutions Software development experience, preferably full stack, with emphasis on AI Vision systems and code quality and testing 5+ years direct experience with manufacturing (operations and/or manufacturing engineering) Self-motivated, organized, curious, creative, hands-on, and collaborative individual Energetic individual who can motivate and lead cross-functional teams to achieve things that have never been done before Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects at once with great attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in developing and launching manufacturing processes, equipment specification and installation, and project management Experience leading cross-functional teams, preferably in a creative environment Knowledge and experience with Ford IT Systems and architecture standards Python, GCP, Docker, Jira experience strongly preferred

What you'll do:

Reimagine manufacturing and develop the technology and solution roadmaps to make it a reality. Understand the manufacturing Bill of Process and deliver vision solutions in every step of the process, including machine guidance, process confirmation, quality inspection, and other areas where vision may aid and inform the process Lead a team of experts in the field of machine vision – assessing new technology, developing solution sets for various manufacturing applications, developing standards, and successfully delivering first implementations into manufacturing processes Lead a team of software developers in developing mature and robust solutions that support efficient processes for feasibility, tool selection, implementation, process validation, and sustainability. Develop solutions that concurrently engineer product, process, and technology to deliver a robust and optimized process Benchmark new advanced technologies and develop supplier partnerships to deliver manufacturing solutions Teach/Coach/Mentor employees, peers, and leadership; document technical knowledge and establish standards. Provide technical leadership to assess the capability of a technology, assure the delivery of system performance, and project management skills to achieve desired timing. Ensure the identification of lessons learned and their application to subsequent systems.
