Our Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions (BAMS) department is a leader in design and development of special purpose equipment and machinery. We are on the lookout for a Vision / Robotics Engineer who thrives in the dynamic world of Special Purpose Machinery. This is your chance to work on diverse projects in an environment that blends autonomy with collaborative team spirit. This is a 2 year maximum term, full-time opportunity based at our Clayton headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and program Vision Systems across various platformsSupport the Engineering team in robotic and vision system commissioningEnhance our in-house Vision expertise to support future projectsCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams for machine commissioningSupport the BAMS team during commissioning phasesDesign small mechanical assemblies in consultation with the Mechanical TeamUphold and promote HSE standards and ensure compliance with all relevant procedures

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following,

Education & Background:

Degree in Robotics and Mechatronics, or a related field

Essential Experience & Skills:

Proven industry experience in automation, robotics, and machine visionStrong knowledge of Vision Systems and RoboticsProficiency in C# programming, CAD tools, and MS OfficeBackground in designing, building, and commissioning Special Purpose Machinery

Hands-on experience with:

Vision systems such as HALCON, CognexRobot programming (e.g. ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, etc.)Simulation tools: Robot Studio, KUKA Sim, Siemens Process Simulate, Plant Simulate, MCD

Personal Qualities:

Natural curiosity and passion for Vision & RoboticsStrong understanding of the automation processExcellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail with a safety-first mindsetAdaptable – comfortable switching between vision and robotics tasks

Desirable Extras:

Experience or strong interest in business developmentWillingness to travel internationally, interstate, and regionally on occasion
