Virtual Design Coordinator
Job Title: Virtual Design CoordinatorJob Description

The Virtual Design Coordinator is responsible for producing 3D Revit models to coordinate and install the electrical scope of work. This role involves participating in coordination meetings to resolve clashes while maintaining budget, constructability, and compliance with project and code requirements. The coordinator will produce detailed shop drawings from coordinated models for the prefabrication team and field installers to ensure successful and efficient project delivery. Additionally, the role involves preparing RFIs to document design conflicts and interpreting architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans with high competence. The coordinator will confer with engineers and project management staff to resolve problems and explain drawings to prefabrication or construction teams, providing necessary adjustments. Travel to various project sites is required.

ResponsibilitiesProduce 3D Revit models for electrical scope coordination and installation.Participate in coordination meetings to resolve clashes while maintaining budget and constructability.Produce detailed shop drawings for prefabrication and field installation.Prepare RFIs to document design conflicts related to project coordination.Interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans.Confer with engineers and project management to resolve issues and explain drawings.Travel to project sites as required.Manage a small BIM/VDC team as the lead coordinator for large projects.Back up or act on behalf of the BIM/VDC Manager when necessary.Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs.Perform other duties as required.
Essential SkillsMinimum 5 years experience as a CA certified journeyman electrician and 5 years experience as a BIM coordinator OR Minimum 10 years experience as an electrical BIM coordinator.Advanced knowledge of construction documentation for all scopes, including specifications, drawings, submittals, and RFIs.Expertise in 3D coordination with other trades.Ability to advise VDC team members on developing their proficiencies.
Additional Skills & QualificationsProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).Proficient in Bluebeam Revu (preferred) and/or Adobe Acrobat.Expert skill level in Autodesk Revit, including advanced skills such as family creation and template management.Proficient in developing point layout for robotic total station workflows.Advanced understanding of cloud collaboration platforms such as ACC, Procore, Box, etc.Working knowledge of Autodesk Docs, Autodesk Build, and other project coordination platforms.Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite. The work environment is typical of an office setting, requiring the ability to sit, see, talk, and hear regularly. The role involves communication in both one-on-one and group settings, as well as presenting to larger groups. The job requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods and move within the office to retrieve files and meet with others. Physical demands include walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel by car to various job sites is occasionally required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
