Your role

The Lower St. Lawrence team is seeking a videojournalist for our Rivière-du-Loup office. 

We’re looking for a skilled storyfinder, storyteller and shooter to fill this position based in Rivière‑du‑Loup. This role requires a creative mind and proven skills in covering current affairs, building a network of contacts and developing original content to be deployed across all our platforms. You should be able to travel around the region and be comfortable appearing on air. You should also be able to produce and shoot your own items. As part of the Lower St. Lawrence team, you'll research, gather, package and present material for all platforms. You'll have to edit your own video, cover stories for our radio and digital platforms and work flexible hours, often independently and without ongoing supervision.

What You Bring

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from university plus three years of practical and relevant experience, or a community college diploma plus five years of practical and relevant experience).

Skills:

Solid storytelling skills.

Comfortable and dynamic on-air presence.

Excellent interviewing skills.

Ability to write clearly and concisely.

Ability to generate original story ideas and creative treatments.

Ability to work in a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment, often in unexpected overtime situations.

Strong knowledge of the Lower St. Lawrence region and its issues. 

Be flexible to work regularly for television, radio and/or digital platforms.

Valid driver’s license.

Creative problem-solving skills.

Highly creative, imaginative, and a motivated team player and self-starter

Excellent interpersonal skills.
