What is Victory Academy at Ridge? 

This school-age education program transforms the lives of our community’s most challenged students through the highest levels of individual attention in special education, in a day setting. We serve students in grades 3 through 12 who are educationally diagnosed with emotional disturbance, intellectual disability, multiple disabilities or traumatic brain injury.

Dedicated staff foster a trauma-sensitive environment that encourages growth, safety, responsibility, and respectful learning. We begin with the end in mind, with a goal to return the student to their school district, completion of high school, enrollment in college or preparation for employment.

Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities.

Salary: $42,000 - $70,000 Qualifications: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s in Education or similar field. Must obtain Master’s degree per NYSED guidelines Minimum Experience: No experience required, however 3-5 years is preferred Required Certification: NYS Special Education Teacher Certification within 6 months of start date
