Vice President Talent and Organizational Development

**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Vice President for Talent and Organizational Development is an enterprise strategist and transformational leader responsible for the expansion and oversight of all talent development and organizational development initiatives.
This high-impact role reimagines how organizational talent and culture fuel innovation, accountability, engagement, and drives performance across the healthcare system. This leader is responsible for driving people-related strategies including organizational design, employee, leadership, and physician leadership development, change management, performance management, and succession planning. The leader is a trusted advisor, culture champion, and organizational architect who achieves success through highly collaborative relationships in a matrixed organization.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Executive and Strategic Leadership**
+ Serve as a member of and resource to the Human Resources Executive Team and Baystate Health Leadership Team.
+ Act as a thought partner to the CHRO and HRE, contributing to system-wise HR strategy, culture change and transformational initiatives.
+ Participate in organization-wide committees and projects that advance Baystate Health’s strategic goals.
+ Build, inspire and lead own team by fostering a culture of growth, accountability and organizational impact.
+ With and through internal communications resources, develop and implement a communication strategy for talent initiatives.
**Employee and Leadership Development**
+ Through surveys, assessments and collaboration with HRBPs and healthcare leadership, assess organizational capabilities to determine the most effective competencies, development tools and interventions to build stronger teams and outcomes.
+ Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of a robust development plan that supports employee, leadership, executive, and physician leadership programs to support business needs.
+ Collaborate with the CPO and BH Executive Team, to design and deliver a succession planning process ensuring organizational continuity, readiness and performance, while providing leadership growth.
+ Leverage and manage external vendors, where necessary, in the delivery of learning, development and technology services that support the talent development agenda.
+ Through and with operational leaders and HRBPs, formulate and implement organization-wide culture policies, programs, and initiatives centered on change, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
+ Shape and deliver the BH employee value proposition and employee experience through talent strategies programs and initiatives.
+ Improve retention and 1st year turnover by delivering an onboarding and assimilation process for new employees, leaders and physicians.
**Organizational Development**
+ Reimagine and redesign the Performance Management process, tools and communication for the enterprise.
+ Coach leaders and HR colleagues on organizational change and organizational design approaches engaging employees in change initiatives and supporting desired outcomes.
+ Cultivate an inclusive and forward-thinking culture where diverse perspectives and experiences inform how the system transforms, leads and supports one another.
**Tools, Systems and Analytics**
+ In collaboration with administrative and clinical leadership, responsible for designing a digital strategy for learning and training curriculum across the enterprise.
+ Build toolkits and self-service learning resources, assesses and implements systems that support learning and performance at all levels.
+ Employs people analytics to improve strategic decision-making and optimize performance that improves how the organization works, leads and manages change across the health system.
+ Propose and manage functional area’s budget.
**Qualifications**
+ Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
+ Certifications in change management and/or SPHR or similar desired.
+ At least 15 years of experience in roles responsible for talent management.
+ Deep understanding and appreciation for the unique needs and challenges of building a contemporary TM/OD agenda for driving significant change across a large dispersed, multi-site workforce, ideally in healthcare.
+ Strong project management skills, including a proven track record of leading large, complex projects.
+ Exceptional executive presence with ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
+ Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, communication, and consulting skills. Ability to assess needs, influence, collaborate, and deliver at all levels of the organization.
+ Proven leader with the ability to build and manage people and engage high performing teams.
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities between customers and program development in a fast-paced environment.
+ Workday experience a plus.
