You and Your Job

As a Vice President in Sponsor Coverage, your role is to cultivate friendly relationships with Financial Sponsors and position Rabobank optimally for business. Building intimacy with your clients through idea generation is crucial, as is maintaining frequent and close contact while being mindful of the return on investment of your time and resources.

You will support senior officers in building relationships and develop your own network with Financial Sponsors. Your role includes delivering investment ideas and Rabobank’s product capabilities to meet client needs, while helping execute the local strategy and business goals.

You’ll originate and support deals through active client coverage, pitch book preparation, financial modeling, and market tracking.

Collaboration with product teams to identify opportunities is key. The role requires a proactive, client-focused mindset and strong communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

Idea Generation for Sponsors and implementing strategy

Jointly responsible for generating ideas translating the adopted strategy into a (team) business plan comprising activities and actions to be taken in order to achieve goals. Contributes towards the coordination and ensures the proper execution of the business plan. Helps drive the local sponsor coverage business strategy in alignment with the global strategy.

Actively builds, broadens, applies and shares professional networks and insights. (Existing) Internal networks to be developed and fostered hereby actively engaging in certain F&A subsector discussions and by being a point person within Sponsor Coverage for one or several subsectors and expected to be an active contributor to subsector group discussions and strategizing regardless of whether or not certain topics are of immediate benefit to sponsors.

Responsible for maintaining, broadening and deepening targeted sponsor relationships. Responsible for a structured and consistent approach of financial sponsor coverage and planning. Drives, develops and maintains relationships with financial sponsors and prospects in order to generate leads in an early stage. Execution on the design, and composition of materials for strategic pitches. Serves as a trusted and reliable partner who looks after his relationships in a responsible way. Captures client related activities and actions clearly in the according systems.

Support and own relationship plans and develop strategy for Financial Sponsors. Candidate works collaboratively with Corporate Finance, LL, FAR and CM. Candidate is expected to take action if/when he/she identifies an opportunity or solution across a wide variety of complex client needs. Candidate is expected to translate these opportunities into creating attractive and clear pitches and financial models to support the origination event (either for him/herself or other Sponsor Coverage officers).

Seeks to pro-actively improve the efficiency of internal processes and internal cooperation and champions internal cross-departmental and cross border cooperation. Challenges the way of working and comes with solutions to improve efficiency or having a bigger impact as sponsor coverage.

Bachelor's Degree

5+ years of relevant experience

Ability to travel regionally up to 15%

Salary Expectations:

Target Hiring Range: $140,000.00 - $230,000.00

This position is subject to the terms of [RAF/Rabobank/RDS]’s compensation plans and policies. It is anticipated that the position will pay within the target hiring range. The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons. Further, all full-time regular positions include all other benefits provided to [RAF/Rabobank/RDS] employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
