Job Description

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility: 

The VP, Sales and Marketing position is responsible for leading the sales and marketing departments.  This includes directing the sales department to meet or exceed sales revenue, sales profitability and budgetary objectives as well as leading the creation and direction of the organization’s brand and marketing strategies that support the Clinical Trials Solutions vision.  The role oversees all aspects of the sales and marketing teams to build compelling and engaging Client and Associate experiences with the brand and portfolio of offerings. The portfolio is comprised of four business units: Global Central Laboratory, Bioanalysis, Viracor BioPharma, and Clinical Supplies Packaging and Labelling.

Essential Job Duties: 

Develop and meet sales and profit goals that are consistent with Clinical Trial Solutions Eurofins’ long-range strategic objectivesDevelop pricing strategies and sales campaignsReview and design compensation structure and variable compensation plans in conjunction with the President and other Plan Administrators.Monitor and report bi-weekly sales achievements to the President and Executive Leadership teamMonitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functionsManage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunitiesPromote and reinforce effective communication with our medical advisors and key opinion leadersDevelop accurate sales forecasts that allow management to effectively capitalize on opportunities, manage issues and measure performanceLead the creation and direction of brand and marketing strategies and objectives for all new and existing products/servicesDevelop and manage departmental budgets for Sales and MarketingManage vendor relationships such as advertising agency, public relations firms, market research firms etc, to ensure business needs are metIdentify published studies, as well as creates publication strategies that support the marketing messages and strategiesOversee various marketing activities (i.e., attendance at scientific meetings, customer visits, regional market meetings, marketing research) to stay current on issues related to customer needs as well as future market opportunitiesEvaluate industry, market trends and competition strategies and recommend product/service positioning and pricingIdentify new product and market opportunities while utilizing research to determine feasibilityWork with direct reports and Executive leadership to develop monthly, quarterly and annual sales and profitability forecasts for all productsRepresent the voice of the customer to ensure marketing strategies, programs and tactics help the brand connect with key customers (market & brand research)Demonstrate strong leadership skills through the supervision, coaching and mentoring of othersDemonstrate ability to manage conflicts and issues regarding matters of significanceUtilize strong network of contacts both inside and outside the companyRepresent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes at all timesOther duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred10+ years of related experience in the field of Sales or Marketing in the healthcare industryLeadership experience requiredFirm understanding of the P/L financialsKnowledge of effective brand management including the launch of new products/servicesKnowledge of the sales process or previous experience in salesProficient in strategic planning, budgeting, market research, brand management, messaging and positioning of healthcare solutions and services specifically; diagnostic products, platforms and programsProficient in commissions and incentive reporting, sales research and analysisDemonstrated experience working in a diverse team environmentExcellent coordination, problem solving, conflict resolution and consensus building skillsWilling to travel 50%+Willing to work outside normal business hours as job dictatesAbility to make independent decisions regarding matters of significanceGoal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organizationExcellent verbal & written communication skillsKeenly attentive to detailAbility to keep sensitive information confidentialHigh level of proficiency with PC based software programs

Physical Requirements:
