Clean Harbors is looking for a **Vice President of Taxes** to join their team! The VP will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax planning, compliance, auditing, internal controls and reporting for the organization including domestic and international taxation. The individual will Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the organization's tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Manages relationships with external tax advisors and authorities. Provides guidance and expertise on tax matters to senior management and other departments within the organization. Stays current on changes in tax laws and regulations and advises the organization on potential impacts.

+ Ensure timely and accurate reporting for all tax compliance activity including federal, foreign, state and local tax compliance.
+ Build an effective, proactive team committed to growth and quality service across multiple levels in the organization.
+ Review quarterly provision, fin48 accruals and tax footnote in close working relationship with controllership function personnel and external auditors. Communicate with Audit Committee quarterly or as requested.
+ Support the planning and analysis efforts of company personnel related to business changes, acquisitions and strategic initiatives.
+ Provide tax planning to create the optimal tax structures for the Company.
+ Negotiate and resolve tax audit issues with federal, state, and local authorities.
+ Prepare tax rate calculations and cash tax forecasts throughout year, and assist with sensitivity analysis for corporate-driven initiatives.
+ Develop, document and update internal controls requirements according to SOX regulations.
+ Proactively stay current on Federal, State and local legislation and regulatory changes affecting Company operations. Communicate material changes to CFO and CEO's.
+ Other duties as assigned.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related required.
+ 10-15 years of relevant experience required.
+ CPA and or MST preferred.
+ Corporate Federal and State Compliance expertise.
+ ASC 740 expertise (aka FAS 109, 123R, FIN48)
+ Public company tax experience with demonstrated record of growth and increasing responsibility.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Leadership strengths and ability to establish, educate and cultivate internal working relationships.
+ Ability to motivate team, prioritize deliverables and act decisively.
+ Strong analytical problem solving and project management skills.
+ Results driven with utmost ethics and integrity.
+ Ability to travel 10%.
