Caterpillar does business on every continent, principally operating through three primary segments – Construction Industries, Resource Industries and Energy & Transportation – and providing financing and related services through our Financial Products segment. **Resource Industries Segment:** Caterpillar’s Resource Industries (RI) segment includes the Integrated Components Division, RI Operations and Products Division, Strategic Procurement & Planning Division, and the RI Sales, Services and Technology Division. **About the Role:** We are currently seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead our RI Operations and Products Division (RIOP). This leader will be responsible for global manufacturing operations across eight manufacturing facilities with approximately 6400 production employees. Product lines include articulated trucks, draglines, electric rope shovels, hydraulic mining shovels, large mining trucks, large track-type tractors, large wheel loaders, surface rock drills, off-highway trucks, underground hard rock vehicles and wheel-tractor scrapers. **What You Will Do:** + Manage staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; managing, motivating, and developing management team. + Oversee operations activities, ensuring that schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively. + Maintain relationships with business, sales, and engineering; coordinating strategies, communications, and joint initiatives for multiple and distributed facilities. + Monitor overall operations performance and implementing production, cost, and quality control mechanisms. + Drive a high performing safety culture. **What You Bring (Skills & Experience):** **Skills:** + **Manufacturing Operations** : Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products. + **Lean Manufacturing** : Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes. + **Manufacturing Safety** : Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site. + **Plant Operation and Maintenance:** Knowledge of plant operation principles, methods and processes; ability to handle day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements and management of a manufacturing facility. + **Production Systems Operation:** Knowledge of a full spectrum of production system operation activities and tools; ability to utilize various techniques to operate equipment and systems involved in the production of deliverables. **Experience:** + Operating in highly customized and complex manufacturing environments. + Proven track record implementing advanced manufacturing technologies to drive innovation, scalability and efficiency. + Demonstrated success leading large global teams across multi-site manufacturing operations. + Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies. + Deep knowledge of global manufacturing practices, supply chain integration, and operational excellence frameworks. **Additional Information:** + This role is based onsite in Irving, TX, with 5 day in office work week. + Up to 70% travel for the role. + Visa sponsorship is not available. + Domestic relocation is available. + This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillar’s long-term incentive plan. **Summary Pay Range:** $252,480.00 - $378,600.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
