Vice President of Engineering Technology

In this role, the successful candidate will provide functional, strategic, and technical leadership for the advancement and research of worldwide Branson technologies, including Ultrasonics, Laser, Vibration, acoustic systems of power conversion and control of plastics joining processes and improved applications of processes for plastics joining.  Responsible for the design and development of standard joining products and for the development of short-term plans and programs for the engineering functions and services involved in modifications and product engineering services for manufacturing and customer requirements of these standard joining products.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies, plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the technical leadership of worldwide Branson technologies, to include existing product lines as well as crafting long range scientific research and development of new products and technologies.  Strategies will be developed in conjunction with the Value Creation and Profitability Review process and programs supervised through Board Meetings and POR attainment. Lead a Global and Diverse organization responsible for material joining product design and development, sustaining engineering and worldwide welding programs. Ensure that technological capabilities are present in the organization to achieve Growth and Profitability objectives Maintain sound engineering concepts and standards of design and quality in the development of new products, and in the improvement of existing products. Direct the Company’s patent and technology license activities, including technical papers, publications, patent disclosures, applications and licenses and negotiating agreements to protect its proprietary technology, and to license its use where profitable, as well as acquiring outside technology as required. Ensure the establishment and administration of sound quality controls to acquire and ensure continued certification and compliance of the technology function under ISO Plan and implement plans for human resources, capital, and expenses to optimally meet business and functional objectives. In conjunction with Human Resources, responsible for the human resource development of the function.  This includes recruiting, training, advising, appraising, mentor, promoting, succession planning, terminating and compensation activities.  Maintain an environment of motivation and passion to ensure high morale and minimize voluntary attrition while working towards specific goals of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Represent Branson Ultrasonics as required in negotiation with representatives of government or industry on technology matters. Keep fully advised on pending and proposed legislation and programs effecting the processes and materials of product development.  Render assistance to universities requesting collaboration in the development and participation of work training programs; attend and participate in outside organizations and associations, meetings, panels, seminars, and surveys for the purpose of exchange of technology and information transfer. Develop, in conjunction with Marketing, strategic plans for portfolio management including recommendations on joint ventures, acquisitions, divestures and/or product line expansions. Lead the New Product Development funnel to ensure that NPD 2.0 results are met, and that Innovation is constantly moving forward to achieve Technology Leadership Represent Branson Ultrasonics in Corporate responsibilities which may include engineering symposiums, task forces, and Technology Conferences

For This Role, You Will Need:

BA/BS Degree in one or more Engineering and Science field of study Relevant years of professional experience commensurate with the level of this position Knowledge of Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, and principles of business and technology. Experience as both individual contributor and managerial contributions in Engineering, Research and Development within a manufacturing industrial enterprise.   Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills required, and a proven track record of successful new product development. Able to travel 30% to meet business needs Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.  Sponsorship will not be provided.

 
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

10+ years of relevant professional experience MS or Ph.D. preferred
