We are seeking to employ a Vice President – Head of Insurance. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the insurance service team and managing timely results of insurance-oriented products and services across our Captive, ILS, and P&C Commercial Reinsurance account. The VP will support the team with any technical re/insurance and claims issues that arise and will also be a relationship lead on captive and reinsurance accounts thereby encouraging strong relationships with clients, representatives and regulatory agencies. Your daily responsibilities and impact: + Oversee the reinsurance and underwriting functions for a portfolio of Captive, ILS, and P&C Commercial Reinsurance entities, including Aon’s Rent-a-Cell entity. + Manage talent by mentoring, developing, and coaching junior colleagues to meet client needs and maintain necessary expertise. + Serve as an Insurance Officer and Relationship Leader for multiple client accounts, and assume the role of captive director or committee member for clients as required. + Develop risk and insurance programs and structures for client accounts, working directly with and presenting to clients. + Lead client value creation discussions, articulating AIM’s value proposition to Captive, ILS, and P&C Commercial Reinsurance entities. + Lead group-wide risk and insurance initiatives at both local and global levels to enhance business performance. + Perform claims operational roles, including maintaining claims trackers, investigation, negotiation, reporting, and settlement. Liaise with clients, adjusters, and reinsurers on technical claims matters. + Oversee the development and integration of underwriting and claims systems in coordination with global and local project teams. + Support new client origination activities, particularly in relation to insurance and potential consulting activities. + Lead or assist in various ad-hoc initiatives to improve the efficiency and productivity of the Insurance platform. + Attend and participate in client Board and/or committee meetings. + Proactively raise the profile of the Bermuda office by representing it at local industry conferences and related events, including ongoing relationship-building with key local and global industry partners. Required skills and experience that will lead to success: + ACII, CPCU or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years post qualified experience. + At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a similar capacity. + Proven track record of developing risk and insurance programs and structures for large national and multinational businesses, including Fortune 500 companies and startup entities. + Comprehensive understanding of the Bermuda regulatory framework and the re/insurance market, including Property & Casualty Sidecars, ILS Collateralized Reinsurance Structures, and Segregated Accounts Companies. + Sound technical knowledge of all major commercial classes of insurance and reinsurance, including captive facilities. + Strong technical knowledge of Employee Benefits programs. + Demonstrated dedication to providing exceptional client service, with a track record of meeting tight deadlines, sometimes requiring work outside of normal business hours. + Demonstrated track record of actively participating in and presenting at Board, Underwriting, and Claims committee meetings. + Proven ability to achieve operational efficiencies. + Proven track record of effectively managing teams both in-person and virtually. + Excellent written, communication and presentation skills, and the ability to effectively interact with internal and client senior management. + Accuracy and detail oriented with strong statistical and analytical skills. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. + Working knowledge of MS Dynamics and SICS reinsurance system is advantageous. + Willingness to be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking, growth mindset practice, including participation in and representation of the Company at both internal and external functions.
