Vice President, Technology Sales APAC

The Red Hat APAC Leadership team is looking for a Vice President of Technical Sales and Go-to-Market to join us. In this role, you will engage with senior corporate leaders on a regular basis to discuss and represent key aspects of the go-to-market elements, build investment plans, and conduct business reviews of the Red Hat portfolio across the product or service life cycle. You should be a well-travelled international technology professional with exceptional leadership and communication skills. At your core you love technology and you connect easily over it with people in technical software and hardware roles across the industry. You have a unique ability to unite technical sales and presales people with a common vision and design and implement distinct career paths across the technical sales community from chief technologist, specialist sales to solution architects. You are valued as someone who successfully connects technical and business functions and has extensive experience managing customer relationships from presales through to delivery. You’ll also represent the company in PR, media, analyst, and customer activities.

This is a Singapore-based role, located at our APAC headquarters.

What you will do:

In close collaboration with worldwide and APAC segment leaders,  establish geo-level targets, matching KPIs and budget for Tech Sales fiscal year and beyond

Lead and deliver against the platform sales strategy for the Geo, including articulation of clear business value of the platform, to continue to elevate our impact to both our internal and external customers, driving growth through net new opportunities

Establish and implement guidelines for allocation of resources across the different roles in tech sales across APAC

Provide governance with respect to organization planning and design of roles, titles, responsibility, incentives, and performance and development management; manage potential drift in an open and transparent way

Manage and oversee brand new global motions in APAC and ensure “express lane” like experience while keeping existing go-to-market motion on track and focused

Hire and mentor tech sales leaders across the APAC to lead with mastery in open innovation and culture

Guide and direct Red Hat technical sales transformation aligned to go-to-market strategy

Provide expertise and vision in region and at the global level to guide Red Hat product and cloud services strategic objectives

Develop teams with a global focus by focusing on onboarding, enablement, and capability-building programs

Foster global collaboration to uncover common patterns and increase insight for global departments

Represent the APAC at global level by articulating APAC-specific needs to technology stakeholders in sales and also Products and Global Engineering (P & GE) and implement change in a collaborative manner

Guide specializations and efficiencies in the tech sales functions and ensure operational excellence and financial command and control – T&E, Staffing, etc.

Develop executive relationships and alignment, coordinated tightly with Red Hat’s product leadership to ensure that design win pursuits fit with the overall Red Hat market, business strategy, and commercial models

Communicate progress, status, and lessons learned from sales pursuits to all internal stakeholders and customers, as applicable; demonstrate the ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for product and technology roadmap

 

What you will bring:

15+ years of combined technical sales and presales experience in the IT industry

Extensive experience with business development and go-to-market strategy; public credibility is a big plus

Experience with customer service and managing presales teams across multiple countries and cultures

Excellent leadership, technical, and executive engagement skills 

Record of building and managing successful teams with a key focus on people development and customer centricity

Proven experience in technical selling, competitive outlook, or forecasting, and understanding of end to end sales processes 

Solid technical background as an IT professional and ability to relate and earn credibility with a technical team as an expert

Passionate communicator with equal abilities in listening and storytelling

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse senior executives and program owners

Highly collaborative work style with proven ability to gather consensus and get support for decisive and timely action

Expertise in cloud infrastructure (including managed services), application platforms, virtualization, automation, and/or AI is a big plus.
