What is the opportunity?

As Vice President, Project and Infrastructure Finance (PIF), you will play a key role in the realization of Corporate Client Group (CCG) objectives through the structuring, delivery and management of project finance and public private partnership transactions principally in partnership with existing and new clients.  The PIF team is responsible for meeting annually established targets for loan derived revenues and returns, New Client Acquisition (“NCA”), and providing advice to partners on project finance principles to build internal relationships.

What will you do?

Under the direction of Managing Directors (MD)/Directors PIF, structure, deliver (pitch through to deal close), and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral project loan transactions

Support the CCG PIF mandate to develop and maintain a business pipeline, win new business and close loan transactions sufficient in number to meet or exceed revenue as well as NCA goals

Support the management and monitoring of the PIF loan portfolio, including timely reporting of material shifts in risk, client needs, and structure, and provide recommendations for action to MDs and Directors PIF, including new marketing opportunities

Alongside Associates, provide research, analysis, and data (market, industry, client, and competitor) to support PIF marketing and advice on, indicative term sheets, deal structures and execution

Provide analysis and support to Directors and other PIF colleagues for advice on risk and return associated with loan transactions contemplated

Primary point of contact for and ownership of credit submissions and transaction presentations, including transaction documentation and coordination with clients and external legal counsel; work with Directors and Associates PIF to coordinate work, and transaction milestones within deal teams to ensure timely and seamless deal execution

Conduct financial modelling work along with Associates PIF and formulate lending base and downside cases under the guidance of Directors PIF

Partner with CCG relationship managers, risk management, and Capital Markets to effectively identify relevant opportunities and deliver the full suite of RBC banking products and ensure optimal positioning of RBC to capture the ancillary wallet of borrowers

Full engagement on client services, with RBC partners and functions including CTM, GLA, R&M, Agency Services and others.

Develop leadership skills through coaching and mentoring Associates PIF

What do you need to succeed?
Must have:

Undergraduate degree with a focus in Business or Economics with senior debt credit knowledge and ability to manage complex concepts

Proven experience in project financing transaction execution with emphasis on renewable energy, legal documentation and negotiation skills

Strong ability to model and interpret financial sensitivity and scenario worksheets

Strong financial, credit, accounting, written and communication skills

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks while meeting time sensitive deadlines

Strong computer literacy with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel

Solid personal and client relationship skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment under time constraints

Nice to have:

Understanding and familiarity with RBC internal processes

MBA, CPA, CFA or other relevant professional designation – ongoing or completed

Effective bilingual (English/French) communication skills
