The Enterprise Acquisition Product and Platform (EAPP) team powers the new accounts growth at Amex innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and managing products and platforms that enable our customer to get products that best fit their needs and provide the backing of Amex. We are a fast-paced global team that leverages emerging technologies to develop application, membership experiences and customer onboarding journey across 20+ markets and the entire spectrum of financial products. We value creativity, customer centricity, and experimentation and collaborate with a high performing engineering team and strategic partners to bring the next generation of products to market.
The RoleThe Enterprise Acquisition Product and Platform team is seeking a Vice President, Product Development to lead a seasoned and diverse product team. The Vice President will play a key leadership role in defining and shaping the new accounts onboarding strategy for Amex. The role spans across enabling front end dynamic application experience, developing capabilities to enhance/personalize onboarding experience. Additionally, this VP leads oversight and development of all onboarding business rules and a strategic roadmap for external integrations and partnerships to drive process efficiency and compliance outcomes. The role partners extensively across the organization drive an increase in both conversion rates and revenue through increased automation and platform availability/scalability targets.
Responsibilities
• You will lead a team of 30+ colleagues including 3 Directors and provide Inclusive leadership for this diverse, and geographically dispersed teams. You will be responsible for driving colleague engagement, retention, progression, and performance management
• Establish the product’s goals and review success metrics to achieve commercial success
• Identify opportunities and drive product strategy, roadmap, and features
• Brainstorm and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to continuously define feature priority
• Help your team develop products by coaching the team to identify value-based tradeoffs and addressing challenging roadblocks
• Drive process improvements to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness, accelerating value delivery to the Enterprise and our customers
• Partner with Tech, Finance and other portfolios to drive innovation and improvements in annual planning and investment processes
• Oversee the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution
• Lead the product and platform functional design, research based on an intimate knowledge of the customer and technology
• Enable analytics-driven decision making to evolve products and usage
• Evangelize the ‘platform as a product’ both internally and externally and shepherd products through the development process, advocating to achieve the best outcomes
• Drive Health of platform goals in close partnership with Technology counterparts including but not limited to Data Governance, Platform Availability, Skill assessment and availability and platform security and compliance
Qualifications
• Proven experience building & leading diverse, geographically dispersed, high-performing teams; extensive experience & success as a leader of leaders
• Proven ability to see the big picture, and drive digital transformations, leading adoption of new ways of working, and leveraging storytelling to drive understanding & adoption of change
• Proven ability to lead a team and influence senior stakeholders to embrace safe & sound business practices at scale
• Proven track record of leading teams through shifting priorities and multiple demands
• Proven experience collaborating with & influencing senior management and peers across multiple business units, demonstrating effective courageous leadership
• Strategic, innovative thinker with a successful track record of problem solving, driving results, and constructively challenging the status quo, within a highly matrixed environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to senior level audiences – both face to face & remote
• Track record of flexibility, resilience, and a strong can-do attitude
• Firsthand experience working within Scaled Agile Framework and/or LEAN portfolio delivery frameworks
• Demonstrated expertise in digital acquisition and proven success at leveraging consumer experiences to drive growth

Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
