Vice President, Global Media Strategy and Planning

This person must understand the rigor of data, know how to pull and synthesize data from multiple sources, and most importantly, have the critical thinking skills to uncover insights, spot themes, and translate findings into actionable media strategies. You’ll lead Media strategy from a global perspective for one of the world’s most iconic technology brands, focused on handheld phones and mobile products. You’ll collaborate closely with analytics, planning, investment, and creative teams, and bring a high standard of strategic discipline and curiosity to every brief. **Responsibilities** + Lead media strategy development grounded in data, cultural intelligence, and business goals. + Interrogate multiple data sources (first-party data, syndicated tools, media performance, social listening, research studies, etc.) to extract meaningful insights. + Apply critical thinking to data, identifying patterns and underlying themes that inform strategy and creative direction. + Translate data findings into clear, compelling narratives and integrated media strategies that resonate with clients and internal teams. + Partner with analytics and research teams to design and interpret measurement frameworks, ensuring insights continue to evolve post-launch. + Mentor and manage a team of strategists and planners, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, curiosity, and strategic clarity. + Represent the strategic voice in internal and external meetings, elevating the quality of thinking across the agency. + Contribute to new business efforts by crafting sharp, insight-led strategies and leading strategic storytelling. **Qualifications** + 10+ years of media strategy or related experience in an agency or consultancy environment. + Demonstrated ability to work with and analyze data from multiple sources. + Strong command of data analysis and interpretation — not just presenting data, but uncovering what it means. + Experience building multi-channel media strategies (digital, traditional, emerging platforms). + Clear communicator and strategic storyteller who can distill complexity into compelling strategic narratives. + Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, guide, and inspire a team. **Additional information** Starcom is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Compensation Range: $154,200- $230,460 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
