The Vice President of Investor Relations (VP of IR) is a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the company’s investor relations strategy. This role serves as the primary liaison between the company and the investment community, ensuring transparent, consistent communication of financial performance and strategic direction.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with expertise in financial markets, corporate communications, and stakeholder engagement, with a track record of building strong investor relationships in a Fortune 150 environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Investor Relations Strategy
Develop and implement a comprehensive investor relations strategy aligned with the company’s financial goals and long-term vision.
Serve as the primary spokesperson to the investment community, articulating financial performance and strategic positioning.
Partner with the executive team to ensure consistent external messaging.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and key stakeholders.
Proactively address investor inquiries and concerns, providing timely and accurate information.
Organize and lead investor meetings, investor days, roadshows, conferences, and earnings calls.
Financial Communications
Collaborate with senior leadership to prepare earnings reports, investor presentations, and press releases.
Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all financial disclosures, adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
Monitor and analyze market trends, peer performance, and investor sentiment to inform communication strategies.
Market Intelligence and Analysis
Provide insights to executive leadership on market trends, shareholder feedback, and competitive positioning.
Monitor the company’s stock performance and trading activity, identifying factors influencing valuation and investor sentiment.
Conduct benchmarking analyses against industry peers to identify opportunities for improvement in investor relations practices.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to financial disclosures, including SEC filings, earnings releases, and investor communications.
Stay current on regulatory changes and industry standards, advising the executive team on potential impacts.
Strategic Collaboration
Partner with Public Affairs, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging across all communications.
Support M&A activities, capital markets transactions, and strategic initiatives by providing investor-related insights and communications.
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and CFO on investor relations matters.
What We Are Looking For:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in investor relations, corporate finance, or equity research, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Experience in a Fortune 500 publicly traded company preferred.
Certified Investor Relations Professional (CIRP), CFA, or similar certification preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Deep understanding of financial markets, equity valuation, and corporate finance principles.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
Strong relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence investors, analysts, and other stakeholders.
Analytical and strategic thinking, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
Proficiency in financial modeling, investor relations tools, and platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, or IR-specific software).
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday required office days; Monday, Friday-work from home.
