Job OverviewThis Senior Developer role for Fixed Income eTrading is within a global application development team responsible for eTrading applications for our Fixed Income business. The role will focus on design and implementation of critical new features as well as architectural and performance improvements. This role requires strong design and programming skills in Java, knowledge of various streaming frameworks as well as familiarity with challenges that arise when implementing real time performant systems.
Experience in Front Office technology, knowledge on Fixed Income Rates products considered a plus.
In this role, you’re expected to:
Collaborate with the team to understand functional and operational requirementsLead designs and implementation of robust and testable code in support of the requirementsDevelop certain non-functional features in the system to improve reliability, scalability and performanceContribute to the design and implementation of automated test suitesParticipate in code reviews helping other team members improve their codePartner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvementsResolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standardsProvide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprintUtilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementationDevelop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goalsProvide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutionsServe as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessaryKey Relationships:
Derivative Pricing & eTrading team in New York, Poland, CanadaOther development teams also same regionsRates Trading DeskApplication support organizationAs a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
8+ years of relevant experience in Application DevelopmentExperience with system analysis and in programming of software applications, especially as it pertains to performance and testability of componentsFamiliarity with Rates Derivative products and associated pricing and risk calculationsAbility to be proactive, adjust priorities quicklyExperience working on a mature development in a large collaborative environment as well as coming up with ideas that challenge current practicesDemonstrated leadership skillsTechnology Skills:
Experience with Java ecosystemExpert in Java developmentStrong understanding of Agile methodologies and best DevOps practicesExposure to profiling, debugging and monitoring toolsAmbition to learn aspects of systems supporting real time interest rate risk calculations
