Vice President, Account Management

The APMD Retail & Commerce group’s mission is to develop and strengthen Mastercard’s enterprise level proposition across key industries: retail and travel across the spectrum of strategic merchants in close collaboration with the Asia Pacific regional teams.

The key areas of responsibilities for the overall group are global strategy, business development across the industry verticals and building/ deepening relationship with key global merchants. The team will focus on deploying initiatives identified as being high priority in delivering Regional and Mastercard goals, including:
•\tPositioning Mastercard as strategic technology partner, critical to profitability/ growth of business
•\tDeepening relationship with key global merchants, building a holistic engagement
•\tNew global partnerships and strategic initiatives
•\tDevelopment of scalable sales/value propositions across industries to drive revenues
•\tProvide Thought Leadership internally and externally

The VP Account Manager, is overall responsible to drive account management across Asia Pacific for key merchant clients, and as a result driving growth in Mastercard revenue. The incumbent will be responsible for cross matrix collaboration and exercising leadership in driving Mastercard business with KPIs across volume, core revenue, cross sales revenue and strategic initiatives.
Summary of responsibility
•\tSet and execute revenue retention and growth strategy for merchant clients, existing and future.
•\tBudgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for the defined group of key merchant clients
•\tResponsible for reviews of the overall performance of the defined group of key merchant clients, and managing the relationship and profitability
•\tLead a team across multiple projects in collaboration with regional teams. Quickly grasp new ideas and simplify strategy into specific actions with clear accountability and roadmap.
•\tResponsible for all administrative and operational issues for the target customer set.
•\tBe the face of strategic merchant relationships in Asia Pacific, both within Mastercard and externally, e.g. industry conferences.
•\tIdentify new segment and product opportunities with cross functional teams to maximize penetration with retail and travel merchants.
•\tLeverage the Mastercard suite of products and solutions to identify and develop new opportunities with merchants to increase Mastercard share and volume to create new revenue streams.
•\tDevelop account plans, GTM strategy, and deliverables for key global clients in collaboration with regional teams.
•\tCreate and adhere to executive calling plans.
•\tDevelop financial modelling and business cases for opportunities.
•\tBuild strong relationships with internal teams and external resources, including senior influencers, to ensure seamless strategy execution.
•\tAnalyze competitive positioning across merchants for Mastercard.
•\tBuild a network with Mastercard regions worldwide to address global merchants' needs and broaden strategic partnerships that have a global presence.



Experience / Education
•\tStrong expertise of working in Retail/ Travel/ Digital industry (consulting and/or industry experience)
•\tPreferably gained both within industry or from a top 5 management consulting firm
•\tComplex “strategy through execution” projects; strategy in general but also sales and operations projects/change management/business transformation
•\tDevelopment of new business/ start-ups
•\tSuccessful business model innovation
•\tInternational experience/ experience working with global brands
•\tTrack record of building and growing complex partnerships
•\tPayment industry experience/ understanding of payment and information flows along travel and/or retail value chain
•\tExperience of developing new consumer propositions within payments, loyalty and digital
•\tResults driven, entrepreneurial and a proactive self-starter, requires minimal supervision.
•\tA high level of business acumen and thought leadership is required
•\tStrong track-record for engagements at C-Level
•\tLong-term strategic mindset
•\tStrong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
•\tMust encourage teamwork, integration & inclusion
•\tComfortable networking and speaking in public including on panels and as a keynote speaker at industry events
•\tExperienced senior strategic sales leader.
