Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a mid-level Drives Specialist - VFD specialist, ideally with 2–5 years of experience, to support both the design and commissioning phases of various projects. This role involves frequent travel to various sites to support internal customers, including the EIC and Automation teams, as well as external clients. The successful candidate will contribute to drive-specific services such as preventive maintenance and commissioning of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

ResponsibilitiesSupport commissioning activities during the design and execution phases.Travel to customer sites for commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Size and configure VFDs, including selecting appropriate filters for specific applications.Engage in customer-facing activities, including scoping replacement or upgrade projects.Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to deliver tailored drive solutions.Demonstrate sales acumen by identifying and pursuing new project opportunities.Essential Skills2–5 years of hands-on experience in site commissioning and fieldwork.3+ years working with VFDs and their applications, especially in hoisting systems, including soft starters and motor control systems in LV and MV applications.2+ years experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley drives is preferred.Ability to interpret motor nameplates and application requirements (e.g., pump vs. constant torque).Proficiency in performing visual inspections, rotation tests, and motor ID runs.Knowledge of static and dynamic tuning methods.Experience in both electrical and controls engineering is beneficial; a hybrid background is ideal.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with ABB, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Schneider VFDs.Work Environment

This position offers a dynamic work environment that is a mix of office, hybrid, and on-site work. The role involves roughly 25% travel, which can last from a few days to a few weeks, depending on project requirements. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
