VEV EE laboratory Technician works on all activities related to the electrical system, subsystem and component sign off testing which the VEV EE team is responsible for. The technician will work on Breadboard, HIL Test benches build, simulators build, vehicle testing setup, electrical testing, etc. which support several vehicle development milestones. The work process involves both electrical and mechanical (including automotive) activities.
Bachelor/Baccalaureate degree or Technical Degree (minimum) or Professional (incomplete) Experience in automotive electronics and mechanics are required. Experience working with electronic tools such as multimeter, amperemeter, oscilloscope. Knowledge of various physics measurement concepts such as: position, speed, acceleration, force, voltage, current, pressure and temperature. Experience in analyzing and interpreting 2D electrical drawings. Proficient in utilizing MS Office tools (Excel, Word. Outlook, SharePoint) Willingness to learn new testing techniques. Ability to work independently and communicate results with solid verbal and written skills. Solid organizational skills including proven ability to multi-task and maintain project deadlines. Possess and promote a positive attitude, proactivity and performs other duties as assigned. Good collaboration skills, able to work with multiple people and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. Able and willing to work off shifts, days off and weekends as necessary. Driving skills. Demonstrated high integrity. Work on breadboard builds (table build, parts reception, part allocation) which includes the setup (ready to test). Work on HIL lab. vehicle, test bench, test solution and simulator builds (including the setup). Work on test vehicle setup (ready to test), repair and maintenance. Support VEV EE test engineers and laboratory customers in electrical testing activities at bench or vehicle level. Process ELMS request, understanding the requestors need and having adequate communication with them until the requested test is finished. The candidate must be able to keep track of all the performed activities, components and equipment through the available formats. Perform a variety of liaison duties by communicating project results to the customers and management via email, text messages, conference calls and face to face conversations. Ensure and prioritize SAFETY for all the people working in the laboratory (Ford and non-Ford personnel). Ensure the confidentiality of the laboratory operation when required. Ensure high quality standards for all the activities. Generate and implement productivity ideas that improve work efficiency. Operate conventional machine tools for assemblies and mechanical devices to be used in vehicle testing. Ensure 5s and laboratory operations are respected; promote a safe and collaborative work environment. Inventory management of the stored material and execute the process on site for EE lab. entry and exit of material. Development of job safety analysis. Maintain and control the supplies and resources to support daily work. Work under lean principles, innovation with purpose to implement process improvements and generate global best practices. Create and standardize processes, implement metrics and keep the work in an improvement loop. Ensure 5s and laboratory operations are respected; promote a safe and collaborative work environment.
