2) Attend all assigned class and/or laboratory and/or clinical sessions, present course content, and give/receive instructions in classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical setting;
3) Design examinations, quizzes, assignments, teaching laboratories, and projects; construct grading rubrics, and grade student tests and projects promptly;
4) Participate in curriculum development, review, and revision; and make recommendations for equipment, materials, textbooks, and supplies;
5) Perform effectively and safely the duties of the DVM or LVT while supervising/instructing /assisting students in laboratories or clinical settings;
6) Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1) Must be a current licensed veterinarian (DVM) in the State of Texas (preferred), OR a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) within the State of Texas with a minimum of an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA accredited institution.
2) Have at least 2 years experience in a clinical veterinary setting.
3) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other faculty, staff, students, and others as required.
4) Demonstrate excellent mathematical abilities as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
5) Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Experience and Training Current licensed veterinarian (DVM) in the State of Texas
Teaching experience in veterinary medicine, veterinary technology, or related field. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods; perform light-moderate lifting; listen and speak effectively; twist, bend, and reach to perform tasks; hand, arm, and body strength needed for both large and small animal restraint; no known allergies to animals. Required Degree, License or Certifications Current Texas Licensed Veterinarian (DVM- Preferred) or Texas Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Special Notes To Applicants 1) Acceptance does not guarantee the applicant will receive a specified semester course or be utilized to teach specified sections.

Yes Work Hours Variable Position Summary Information Objective The Veterinary Technology Program is seeking qualified individuals that may be assigned an entire course on a semester basis or be utilized on an as-needed basis to substitute for full-time faculty in specific sections of a course(s).
