VCA Northwood Animal Hospital is expanding its Patient Care Team and seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician!

Schedule: Full-time, 4 x 10 hour shifts, with rotating Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Perform laboratory work in cooperation with the veterinary teamEffectively perform sample collections such as venipuncture, cystocentesis, fecal collection, ear cytology, etc.Place IV catheters, administer vaccines, administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routesPrepare blood, urine, tissue, and other specimen samples for outside laboratory analysisWork in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the teamDigital imagingProperly  annotate medical recordsProvide client education including post-surgical discharge instructions, answering client questions during technician appointments, and phone call consultationsSurgical preparation and monitoring, including calculation and administration of anesthetic drugsPerform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs under the supervision of a veterinarian

Qualifications:

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or eligible to transfer state license (LVT, CVT, LVMT).Proficient in anesthesia monitoring and administration.
