Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon
Salary: Up to £50,000 (Dependent upon experience)
Location: Parkhill Vets (Wetherby, West Yorkshire)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (Would consider Part-time applicants 30hrs minimum)
Hours: 40 hours (4-day week) with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. No OOH or on-call.
Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to start in December 2025. Your role would be over a 4-day working week with shifts 8.30am to 6.30pm or 8am – 6pm with one day off a week. Our current rota allows for regular 4-day weekends too.
We are a progressive Small Animal Practice in Wetherby, which is within the 'golden triangle' of Yorkshire with easy access to Leeds, York and Harrogate.
We actively encourage CPD, and our team has certificates in Medicine, ECC, Surgery and GP with 2 other vets currently studying towards their ophthalmology and medicine certificates.
Our practice is well equipped with ultrasound (including echocardiogram table), digital radiographs, laparoscopic surgical equipment, full dental suite with x-rays, endoscopy/rhinoscopy, tonometer, slit lamp, stance analyser and of course, a great coffee machine!
We are an accredited dog friendly practice and have gained Silver ISFM Cat Friendly status.

About the Practice
Parkhill Vets is a vibrant, progressive-thinking, tier 2, 100% SA practice situated in an idyllic rural setting just on the outskirts of the lovely market town of Wetherby. Wetherby is situated in the 'golden triangle' of Yorkshire with easy access to Leeds, York and Harrogate. A 15-minute drive gets you to each one with all its amenities and attractions.
The practice was purpose built and completed in March 2012 and provides an excellent place to come to work with ample free staff parking. We have a small paddock to the rear of the practice where we sit and sunbathe in the summer during breaks. Our more athletic members of staff frequently go for runs or bike rides in the vicinity of the practice or take a more leisurely stroll on a dog walk on some of the nearby tracks and trails.
Our nursing team is excellent with a range of skills to augment those of out vets. We are a nurse training practice as well although we are currently blessed with lots of registered veterinary nurses.
