Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) proudly opened its new, state-of-the-art facility in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. This milestone marks the continuation of over 40 years of dedicated service to our community. Equipped with advanced diagnostics like MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and a PET scanner, the hospital features 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated emergency department, and expanded training spaces. Thoughtful amenities—including feline-only waiting areas, a rehab unit, comfort rooms, and a serene zen garden—reflect our commitment to exceptional care for pets and their families.
We are seeking a Rehabilitation Technician who is friendly, able to work independently, communicates well, and stays organized. This role involves helping with a variety of daily tasks and working closely with all departments in the hospital.
Position Overview:
The Rehabilitation Technician must be outgoing, be able to work independently, possess excellent communication skills, and make use of all available time. The Exotics technician must have good organizational skills and the ability to perform and work proficiently in a wide variety of daily situations. The technician must also be able to work with every department in the hospital.
Compensation & Benefits:Full Time (Multiple departmental roles available)Credentialed Technicians: $27- $31/hr. based on experienceNon-Credentialed Technicians: $22- $26/hr. based on experienceWe also offer a competitive benefits package plus local hospital benefitsThe final compensation offer will be based on the qualified candidate’s experience and ability to make an impact coming into the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient CareEnsuring the patient remains clean and comfortable while in the care of RBVHKnowledge of rehabilitation and pain management therapies and treatmentsAseptic knowledge of exposure to: a. potential caustic agents b. cleaning products c. zoonotic diseasesTechnical SkillsAssist the physical rehabilitation doctorSafely perform physical rehabilitation treatments including cryotherapy, thermotherapy, electrical stimulation, exercises, massage therapy, and treadmill therapy as outlined by the physical rehabilitation doctorBe able to evaluate pain and recognize any changes in behavior, condition, mentation, and overall status before, during, and after treatments, bringing any changes to the attention of the physical rehabilitation doctorCommunicate professionally with clients at appointments, discharges, and on the phoneDiscuss home care and treatment plans with clientsHandle and administer controlled substancesAdministration and knowledge of analgesic and anesthetic therapy to include opiates, non-steroidal medication, and inhalation anesthesiaDocument all patient treatments, client communications, and communications with staff members on the computer in the medical record Equipment care/ Hospital MaintenanceStocking and maintaining the exam and rehabilitation roomsCleaning and maintaining all the equipmentCleaning and maintaining the water treadmillAssist in other departments in the hospital as needed during down timeQualifications
Minimum Requirements:Three years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital is required. Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus! Preferred Qualifications:Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) Prior experience working with rehabilitationBenefits
