To elevate our Neurology Department’s client experience and improve upon treatment plan compliance and fee capture.Point of contact for Neurology clients when a medical team member is not immediately available.Point of contact for pDVMs requesting to speak with a Neurologist (when a Neurologist is not immediately available)Provide Neurology clients with the time and attention they need (which allows the nursing team to focus primarily on patient care)Primary Responsibilities:Available to the Neurology Department to coordinate patients’ care.Handles complicated or time-consuming financial conversations with specialty clients, relieving the Neurologist of his/her team so they can move onto the next patient or procedure. Assist CSRs with in-depth phone calls from clients and PVMs to discuss and answer detailed questions about services.Assists with disruptive clients or upset clients, preventing escalation.Audits all current/open invoices for hospitalized surgery patients. Audits closed invoices as a KPI, producing management reports monthly.Participates in department level meetingsAttend daily roundsHave a solid knowledge of routine specialty neurology/procedures and at home careWork collaboratively with the entire VVC specialty staffCreate estimates for proceduresPresent treatment plans to clientSchedule add-on procedures/emergencies per specialist approvalAssist nursing team with call-backsEnsure all neurology cases are scheduled in a timely manner per surgeon’s standards and availabilityAudit neurology invoicesAid clients with insurance companiesStrong communication and the most positive customer service skillsProvide medical updates to owners if nursing staff is unavailable to do soKnowledge of common neurology, procedures, and advanced imaging processAssist clients with questions regarding paperworkAssist nursing team by checking team voicemails, conveying message to the correct team member, and returning phones calls as needed.Check department voicemail throughout the dayTake as many calls for the neurology department as possible (to avoid sending clients to voicemail)-timely resolution of client concerns/requestEnsure charts are complete for next day appointments-follow up with appropriate pDVMs as neededPerforms all other duties as assignedQualifications:Available to work Monday - Friday between the hours of 7am – 6pmPrevious veterinary medicine experience is required Preferred neurology/medical knowledgeExperience auditing medical recordsDemonstrated history of handling escalated client concerns
