VCA Murphy Road Animal Hospital is expanding its Patient Care Team and seeking a Veterinary Assistant!
Schedule: Full-time with flexible scheduling.

Position OverviewOur Veterinary Assistants support our Doctors and Veterinary Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include:
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
Safely restrain animals for treatments and diagnostics.
Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision.
Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces).
Perform basic diagnostic tests, including radiographs and blood tests.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Educate clients on general animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions.
Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of examination rooms, surgical areas, and kennels.
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering phones.
Filling prescriptions.
Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
6+ months of experience in a veterinary setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Genuine compassion for animals and their owners.
