Job Description Vessel Manager – South Shields

A leading organisation in the maritime sector is seeking an experienced Vessel Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of its managed vessels from a South Shields base. This shore-based role offers the chance to combine technical expertise with hands-on project management.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee vessel maintenance, repairs, dry dockings, and surveys. Manage contractors, budgets, and the procurement of parts and equipment. Ensure compliance with statutory, class, and safety requirements. Carry out vessel visits to supervise works and support onboard teams. Promote a strong safety culture and contribute to audit and inspection processes. Ideal Candidate:
Class 1 CoC (Engineering) or background as a Marine Engineer (CPO/WO) or experience as a Technical Superintendent. Skilled in managing multiple projects and coordinating with diverse stakeholders. UK citizen eligible for SC security clearance.
